About
History
Established in 2004.
I began playing in 1990 and performing as a professional – on a variety of stringed instruments – in 2000. Since 2004, I have helped hundreds of students learn to play what they like and like what they play. Most play for their own enjoyment or for family and friends. Many have joined bands. Some lead musical groups. Several compose and record their own music. A few have gone on to study music in college or pursue professional music careers of their own.
Meet the Business Owner
For most of my life, I have played casually and professionally. I am passionate about music – particularly guitar. I love to play. I love to compose new songs and tweak old favorites. I love to play along with others and improvise. I love to pass it on by teaching others.
I have a 13 year old daughter in Buhl that wants to get back into guitar lessons. How do I go about getting her signed up?
I love your work! Thanks for helping my kids learn. My oldest son still makes music a big part of his life.
Thank you. I appreciated the opportunity to teach him and hope he goes far. P.S. please text me so I know you received this and we can communicate further.
Do you do in home lessons, and how long are the lessons? Also would you be willing to work with a visually impaired child who is also on the mild autism spectrum? He is 12, very nearsighted, very smart and has an absolute love for music. He Does play bells in school band, 3rd year now.
Hi Nicole. Thank you for asking about guitar lessons for your boy.
I would love to teach him. I have experience teaching a few autistic children. I understand there are varying degrees of autism, with each person bringing his own unique set of gifts and challenges. Most have been successful learning with me.
As far as eyesight goes, there are books that have enlarged print. That may not be a real problem for him. I also like students to be able to play without watching their hands too much, once they get used to the feel of the instrument.
I do not currently do in home lessons. I have in the past, but I have found it to be much more efficient to have one central location at which all my students can meet me. I don’t have to charge as much that way, and I can do more students in a shorter period of time. Depending on your location, I would consider doing in home lessons, but I would have to charge more due to the time and cost involved in commuting.
I also have a twelve-year-old son who loves music and plays in a handbell choir. He loves it for the camaraderie and challenge it provides. I look forward to hearing from you so we can find a way to fit him in my lesson schedule.
Oh, and the lessons are 30 minutes long.
I’m looking for lessons for my son please e mail me your phone number at lisalake1973@yahoo.com
Lisa, I tried to send you three emails. None of them made it to you.
What are your prices to teach the bass. I have one I been wanting to learn to play.
Hi James. Thanks for asking about bass lessons. $90 per month reserves each student a weekly 30-minute spot in my teaching schedule. If you would like to get ahold of me more directly, feel free to call or text (208)358-0455.
